Rani Hayman is an award-winning multimedia reporter, presenter and video journalist, with a broadcast career spanning more than a decade. Most recently, she has worked as an International Reporter for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC News), based in the London bureau.
In this role she has covered news across the UK, Europe and Africa, including the 2024 UK general election and the Ukraine-Russia war, filing across all platforms including TV, radio news, current affairs, ABC online and social media.
Before moving to the UK, Rani worked in Melbourne for the ABC’s flagship morning show, News Breakfast, as a Presenter covering news, entertainment and sport alongside Michael Rowland and Lisa Millar.
During her almost 8 year career with the ABC, Rani has had many roles, including working as a Political Reporter in Sydney, covering the 2022 Federal Election and 2023 NSW State Election, and as a Multimedia Reporter for the Asia Pacific Newsroom. She is also trained as a Video Journalist, filming her own stories for broadcast and shooting photographs published on ABC online.
Rani was part of the 2020 Walkley Award winning team for coverage of the Black Summer bushfires and the 2019 NT Media Award winning team for coverage of the 2019 Darwin Shooting. Rani has also reported for BBC Radio, Radio New Zealand, FairFax Media and News Corp publications.
